What you will do

• Create live segments with reporters and guests during breaking news coverage when MS NOW is in tape.
• Monitor breaking news and turn around video, graphics, and information under deadline pressure.
• Contribute in control room as needed during breaking news situations to support the production team.
• Write and produce taped news packages for Morning Joe, including story angles, editorial elements, script writing, and delivery coordination with editors.
• Assemble taped hours compiled from existing MS NOW shows and deliver taped shows to master control.
• Support the social media team by monitoring and creating social media content.

Requirements

• Must be willing to work in New York, NY and have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• At least 5 years of experience in journalism (cable/network news, website, or newspaper).
• Demonstrated experience producing taped news packages or edit-driven segments, including script writing, video/sound selection, and working closely with editors under deadline.
• Strong writing skills and knowledge of American politics.
• Strong research and reporting skills.
• Ability to handle daily script deadline pressure and work overnight hours as part of a 4-day, 10-hour schedule with flexible hours during breaking news.
