TL;DR

Environmental Health & Safety Consultant (EHS): Developing and maintaining client relationships through onsite field audits, employee trainings, and regulatory interaction with an accent on industry and regulatory knowledge. Focus on accident prevention programs, environmental management compliance systems, and preparing compliance documentation while managing frequent client travel across the Phoenix territory.

Location: Remote (based out of the employee’s home office) with frequent client visits in the territory, including 2–3 weeks of overnight travel per quarter. Territory primarily covers Phoenix, Arizona, with overnight travel to clients in Arizona.

Salary: Annual base salary range $55–70k; yearly bonus potential around $8–10k; travel allowances.

What you will do

• Establish and maintain client relationships across district clients, dealer group management, and state dealer associations.
• Conduct onsite field audits and deliver employee trainings while demonstrating strong industry and regulatory expertise.
• Organize quarterly client visit schedules to maximize travel efficiency using local and distant client groupings.
• Assist with and/or prepare compliance documentation (e.g., Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Tier II reporting, OSHA 300 logs, EPA ID numbers, tank permitting, SPCC Plans).
• Support accident prevention by helping develop, implement, and monitor accident prevention programs, policies, and procedures to drive toward Zero Accident / lost time injuries.
• Provide customer service and submit referrals/sales leads to the local Account Executive; maintain internal and external public relations.

Requirements

• Must be able to travel overnight about 2–3 weeks per quarter and drive between client visits (typically ~4 days per week).
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Safety Studies, or related disciplines preferred.
• Environmental Health & Safety experience preferred (three years preferred).
• Ability to speak publicly in forums up to 300 audience members and communicate effectively with senior management and stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and ability to work independently; proven experience working with collaborative teams.
• Strong computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, Microsoft Outlook, and phone/tablet applications).
