Senior Product Manager - Payments (Fintech)

Location: Vienna, Austria; hybrid working model combining onsite collaboration and remote work.

What you will do

• Own the product roadmap for consumer fiat deposits and withdrawals across European markets, including local card networks, SEPA Instant, and Open Banking.
• Partner closely with engineering by writing PRDs and managing product scope from ideation through delivery and post-delivery optimization.
• Design resilient payment journeys, state machines, edge-case handling, and idempotent systems for high-traffic transaction flows.
• Build intelligent payment routing, cascading logic, decline normalization, smart retries, and actionable error messaging to improve conversion.
• Reduce processing costs through routing optimization, commercial negotiations, and multi-rail payment strategies.
• Automate ledgering, settlement monitoring, exception handling, and broker operations while managing relationships with external PSPs and providers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Product Management experience in consumer fintech, neobanking, or retail brokerage.
• Experience shipping transactional infrastructure and working hands-on with APIs, webhooks, microservices, and observability tools.
• Strong knowledge of SEPA, SEPA Instant, Faster Payments, card schemes, clearing, and settlement cycles.
• Experience analyzing conversion funnels and infrastructure failures with SQL or analytical tools such as Tableau or QlikView.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional engineering squad using agile delivery practices.
• Availability for a hybrid role based in Vienna, Austria.
