What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance Java services (Spring Boot WebFlux/MVC) for real-time trading operations.
• Own the full lifecycle from architecture to production, deploying to Kubernetes (AWS EKS) via CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Frontend teams to deliver high-impact features for crypto trading.
• Build comprehensive observability using Grafana, Honeycomb, and OpenTelemetry to ensure system health.
• Champion technical excellence in performance, scalability, and security for high-volume transaction systems.
• Participate in on-call rotations and resolve production incidents with urgency and precision.

Requirements

• Solid backend engineering experience with Java, Spring Boot, and reactive patterns (REST/gRPC).
• Battle-tested experience running production workloads on Kubernetes (AWS EKS).
• Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and caching layers (Redis).
• Strong DevOps skills including GitLab CI and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Must be based in or able to work from London (Hybrid: 3 days onsite).
• Strong English-language communication skills for working in globally distributed teams.
