Location: Must be based in the UK (Home-based/Hybrid options available).

What you will do
- Lead technical discovery and architecture for complex financial transfer initiatives.
- Solve technical challenges across event-driven flows, data consistency, and system orchestration.
- Proactively identify and mitigate system-level risks related to performance and data integrity.
- Mentor mid-level and junior engineers to raise the technical bar across the tribe.
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Architecture teams to ensure solutions are fit for live service.
- Drive improvements in observability, deployment safety, and system recovery.
Requirements
- Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided).
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering.
- Strong background in Java (Java 21) and Spring Boot.
- Experience with AWS and event-driven architectures.
- Proficiency with RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder management.
Nice to have
- Experience in the financial services sector.
- Familiarity with integration-heavy platforms.
- Experience improving operational resilience through system redesign.
