Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Budapest, Hungary (flexible office, remote, or hybrid work)

What you will do

• Design and deliver scalable microservices for high-volume, real-time messaging across global environments.
• Own end-to-end feature development from architecture and implementation through deployment and production support.
• Improve observability through logging, monitoring, and alerting to strengthen reliability and operational efficiency.
• Evaluate cloud technologies and distributed-system patterns while influencing platform strategy.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to align Enterprise Messaging capabilities with customer and business needs.
• Mentor engineers, lead code reviews, and promote engineering excellence, including responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend and distributed systems.
• Expertise building and operating scalable, cloud-native applications.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Java, with the ability to work across multiple backend technologies.
• Experience with RESTful API design, service-oriented architecture, and NoSQL or relational databases at scale.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, automated testing, CI/CD, deployment, and production support.
• Understanding of practical problem-solving for complex technical challenges.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and Kinesis.
• Knowledge of distributed-system design, scalability, and high-availability patterns.
• Experience with real-time messaging or collaboration platforms.
• Familiarity with JavaScript and other programming languages.
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows.
