Senior AI Engineer (TypeScript/Node.js)

Location: Remote within the European Union and the listed countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Malta, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, and Turkey. What you will do

• Own the end-to-end delivery, quality, reliability, and evolution of major AI features in production.
• Design output-type-based AI systems, including segmentation, routing, formatting, and enforcement across multiple LLMs.
• Integrate and orchestrate LLM providers through OpenRouter, including model selection, fallbacks, and cost optimization.
• Build agentic and tool-using workflows with function calling, MCP-based tools, and reliable AI-to-service integrations.
• Develop multi-step LLM workflows using orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Monitor, debug, test, and improve production AI systems across the Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, and Redis stack.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend or full-stack software engineering experience, including production-grade TypeScript and Node.js.
• 2+ years of experience building AI or LLM systems in production.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, agentic AI, tool-based workflows, RAG pipelines, and LLM observability platforms such as Langfuse or LangSmith.
• Experience with AI gateways and model routing solutions such as OpenRouter, plus Redis and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Working proficiency in Python for data science, evaluation scripts, or AI tooling.
• Applicants must be located within the listed countries or within approximately ±4 hours of CET.

Nice to have

• Experience with Next.js, MCP, edge and serverless runtimes, and services such as Cloudflare Workers.
• Experience with Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, LLM-as-a-judge, RAGAS, or similar evaluation tools.
• Experience with payments, billing, checkout flows, model fine-tuning, or strict JSON and schema compliance.
• Experience working in high-pressure startup environments with rapid product iteration.
