TL;DR

Design Principal, Global Engineering Development (Electrical): Shaping the global electrical design strategy for mission-critical data center infrastructure with an accent on standardization, resilience, and cost optimization. Focus on evolving global reference designs, integrating emerging technologies, and coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders.

Location: Remote (Must be based in Canada)

What you will do

  • Lead the global electrical engineering direction for reference data center designs to ensure operational resilience and cost efficiency.
  • Own and evolve global electrical reference designs, including equipment selection, configuration standards, and design methodologies.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and innovations into design roadmaps.
  • Provide technical leadership to regional design teams for the implementation of standardized design packages.
  • Collaborate with procurement and operations teams on equipment selection, lifecycle planning, and cost optimization.
  • Manage external consultants and design partners to ensure high-quality delivery of design packages.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in electrical design within data centers or mission-critical infrastructure environments.
  • Strong expertise in LV switchgear, UPS systems, and power distribution architectures.
  • Experience working with global or multi-regional engineering standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Background in MEP design coordination and multidisciplinary engineering delivery.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Must be based in Canada.
