Associate Electrical Engineer (Renewable Energy)

What you will do

• Design wind, solar, and substation SCADA systems and support field implementation.
• Manage interconnection construction and network upgrades while ensuring compliance with agreements.
• Draft technical specifications for EPC contracts and engineering consultants and review electrical designs.
• Support bidding processes via RFP development, proposal analysis, and technical recommendations.
• Review and approve construction drawings for compliance with engineering standards and safety codes.
• Oversee electrical compliance studies and provide technical support for reliability audits.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer or Engineer in Training (EIT).
• Bilingualism (French and English, spoken and written) required.
• Must be based in Canada.
• Knowledge of SCADA management systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles applied to renewable energy.

Nice to have

• Ing./P.Eng. or CPI/EIT certification.
• Experience in renewable energy or heavy industrial sectors.
• Experience with Ignition HMI, Wonderware HMI, OSI PI, or Canary Labs.
• Proficiency in power systems modelling software such as DigSilent or ETAP.
• Knowledge of IEEE, NEMA, CSA, and IEC technical standards.
