Senior Platform Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure)

TL;DR

Senior Platform Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure): Shaping and maintaining a scalable compute platform for product development teams with an accent on Kubernetes, AWS, and Infrastructure as Code. Focus on developing state-of-the-art cloud products, solving distributed system challenges, and improving developer experience through internal platforms.

Location: Hybrid in Berlin, Germany (3 days on-site per week). Relocation support provided.

What you will do

• Develop cloud infrastructure products using Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Support company-wide adoption of cloud technologies and internal platform products.
• Solve complex problems within a distributed system serving millions of customers.
• Apply product thinking to the development of internal tools and services.
• Mentor team members and share technical knowledge via blogs and conferences.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of cloud providers (AWS, GCP) and their APIs.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes microservices architectures and internal components.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages, preferably TypeScript, JavaScript, or Go.
• Ability to create and consume REST APIs.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to drive problem-solving and productivity.
• Location: Must be based in or be able to relocate to Berlin, Germany.

Nice to have

• Experience designing cloud network architecture (AWS ALB, CloudFront, VPC).
• Experience with AWS CDK, Python, or Kotlin/Java.
• Experience building or maintaining backstage.io developer portals.
