What you will do
- Build and oversee portfolio performance monitoring and forecasting for risk and revenue metrics.
- Architect and optimize an ongoing risk-based pricing program balancing commercial viability and fair customer outcomes.
- Design and deploy credit strategies for lifecycle events (product upgrades, engagement incentives, balance transfer propositions).
- Develop proactive loss mitigation frameworks (e.g., credit limit decrease strategies) to reduce losses while supporting vulnerable customers.
- Lead and scale an initial team of 3 credit analysts, coaching and developing analytical talent.
- Act as the embedded credit risk expert in product squads and coordinate with 2nd Line Credit Risk, Legal, and Compliance.
Requirements
- Location: must be based in the UK (London office or distributed working within the UK).
- Commercial, strategic credit leadership with deep experience in unsecured lending portfolios (ideally credit card lifecycle management).
- Portfolio management experience including risk-based pricing, retention, product upgrades, and loss mitigation strategies.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous “zero-to-one” environments and challenge legacy banking assumptions.
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to communicate complex data to executive-level audiences.
- Strong technical/data capabilities: SQL is a must-have; Python and Looker experience is a plus.
