What you will do

• Lead setup, operation, and optimization of CNC turning centers, including mill-turn and multi-axis lathes.
• Execute machining and grinding across 3-axis, 3+2, and 5-axis mills to support production demands.
• Define tooling selection, workholding/fixturing concepts, and program sequencing.
• Troubleshoot complex machining challenges such as chatter, tool wear, and thermal distortion.
• Develop and maintain setup sheets, work instructions, and process standards for tight-tolerance features.
• Mentor machinists and operators on turning best practices and advanced machining techniques.

Requirements

• Extensive experience operating CNC turning centers (2-axis, live tooling, mill-turn, or multi-axis lathes).
• Proficiency with Siemens, Fanuc, and Heidenhain controllers.
• Advanced understanding and application of GD&T in precision machining.
• Experience machining complex components in aluminum, steels, titanium, and nickel-based alloys (Inconel).
• Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to US export controls.
• Proven ability to take parts from first article through stable production runs.

Nice to have

• Experience with NX CAM and strong understanding of G-code.
• Familiarity with large-format or gantry-style machining systems.
• Experience machining additively manufactured components or hybrid workflows.
• Strong manual machining skills for tooling and fixtures.
• Experience writing probing routines for on-machine part inspections.
