Location: Hybrid in Folsom, CA, USA. Relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $45.10 - $63.15 per hour

What you will do

  • Perform mathematical and economic analysis of market software and power systems to validate prices, congestion, and solution optimality.
  • Validate and test market outcomes to address and resolve market participant disputes or inquiries.
  • Support the design of market operations software, processes, and policies, providing expertise in cost optimization and market clearing principles.
  • Identify and resolve implementation, design, and integration problems within assigned market areas.
  • Participate in market design and development to improve solution quality and create new validation measures.
  • Provide technical analysis and validation support to the Grid Operations Control Room.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Power Systems focus), Operation Research, Economics, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in the utility/power industry, system analysis, operations research, or economic analysis.
  • Experience in the design or implementation of computational methods for market models.
  • Proficiency with applied optimization principles, power system operations, and market design.
  • Strong mathematical analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
