What you will do

• Define and maintain shared models for product usage, customers, and key business metrics.
• Build and operate foundational data products using SQL, Python, and Spark in a Databricks lakehouse environment.
• Design shared metric definitions and semantic layers to ensure consistent data interpretation.
• Partner with Product, Data Platform, and Analytics teams to align on foundational concepts and architecture.
• Set technical direction for modeling standards, orchestration, and tooling.
• Lead and mentor data professionals while maintaining a hands-on technical role.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada
• 6+ years of experience building and owning shared, reusable core data models.
• 2+ years of leadership or management experience with data professionals.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and strong Python skills.
• Experience with Spark and modern lakehouse environments like Databricks.
• Operational experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Astronomer.
• Proven ability to build foundational models that support multiple use cases.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting data used for AI/ML model training.
• Background working on data infrastructure or platform teams.
