What you will do

• Write and edit engaging copy for Instagram, Reels, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, and newsletters.
• Produce audience-focused social video content and maintain brand voice across all platforms.
• Support the production of news and service journalism in key markets.
• Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the Eater App.
• Perform work-related dining research, including during non-standard hours.

Requirements

• Must be located in Austin, Texas, or Chicago and familiar with the local food and beverage landscape.
• Proficiency in executing social video and comfort appearing on camera.
• Skill in using Photoshop to create visually engaging carousels and social posts.
• Experience in editing and fact-checking service coverage and news.
• Strong news judgment for identifying stories relevant to local audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience managing freelance contributors.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere.
