Staff Software Engineer

Location: New York, New York, USA; hybrid work

Salary: $244,000–$305,000 USD per year, plus equity and possible variable compensation

What you will do

• Own the technical direction of multiple critical architecture areas.
• Design and deliver systems from initial architecture through production deployment and full scale.
• Lead technically complex projects across the engineering organization.
• Build and improve systems such as data storage engines, streaming platforms, profiling products, and critical high-scale services.
• Analyze system performance and develop new approaches to improve efficiency at scale.
• Contribute to staff engineering practices and company-wide software and systems engineering standards.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• 4+ years of technical leadership experience as a manager or technical leader.
• Experience leading the design and delivery of industry-leading systems with significant technical depth or organizational impact.
• BS, MS, PhD in a scientific field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools in daily workflows and validate, critique, and refine AI-generated output.
