What you will do

  • Own and deliver quarterly goals for the Consumer Payments team, leading engineers through ambiguity.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to ideate and define technical plans.
  • Proactively identify and resolve project, process, or technology bottlenecks.
  • Support the operations and availability of team artifacts through monitoring and on-call efforts.
  • Foster a culture of quality by improving code review and design standards.
  • Mentor and develop talent on the team through feedback and guidance.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience designing and launching backend systems using Python or Kotlin.
  • Proven track record with distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience creating elegant, simple, and extensible technical plans for significant features.
  • Proficiency in making safe, significant changes within a large codebase.
  • Must be based in the UK.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills for global collaboration.
