Network Test Engineer III (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with an expectation to work an average of 2 days per week from an HPE office. Relocation support is provided for eligible candidates.

What you will do

• Support networking products through customer-specific release, product, and solution testing.
• Develop and maintain expertise in products deployed within customer networks.
• Design limited software enhancements and determine coding, programming, and integration activities.
• Write and execute test plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned application areas.
• Identify, debug, and help resolve software and networking issues.
• Collaborate with internal and outsourced development partners on design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Typically 4–6 years of networking experience.
• Strong knowledge of TCP, UDP, IPv4/IPv6, L2/L3 protocols, and enterprise and data-center networking.
• Experience with networking protocols and technologies including BGP, OSPF/ISIS, VLANs, MPLS, L3VPN, EVPN-VXLAN, GRE, IPSec, NAT, HTTP, and NetConf.
• Experience preparing test plans, executing tests, and understanding complex customer networks.
• Experience with automated testing and debugging using Python, Pytest, Go, or another scripting language; hands-on experience with Spirent and Ixia test equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud provider, enterprise, data-center, and AI/ML data-center network technologies.
• Knowledge of CLOS architecture, high-availability design, EVPN, spanning tree, LAG, MC-LAG, and virtual chassis.
