Verification Engineer Intern (Optical Networking)

Location: Atlanta, with office attendance in Alpharetta, Georgia, Tuesday through Thursday.

Pay range: $27.00–$37.50 per hour.

What you will do

• Develop comprehensive test plans for customer use cases and product capabilities.
• Build test environments and perform validation testing in lab and field environments.
• Develop Python automation test cases and extend existing automated test coverage.
• Report defects and follow up with design teams through closure.
• Collaborate with customers, Product Line Management, R&D, and customer-facing teams.

Requirements

• Actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Optical Communications.
• Experience developing automation with Python and troubleshooting automation scripts.
• Knowledge of optical technology and photonics.
• Understanding of software testing, Linux operating systems, and standard tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work from the Atlanta-area office Tuesday through Thursday.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices.
• Understanding of IP and Ethernet networking, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and VLANs.
• Experience with CLI, JSON, SDKs, and device configuration.
• Strong communication, presentation, and public speaking skills.
