Senior Research Manager, Elimination & Eradication (Malaria Modeling)

Location: Seattle, WA, United States; travel up to 20% domestically and internationally. Must have unrestricted work authorization in the United States; immigration-related sponsorship is not provided.

Salary: $262,200–$406,400 USD annually for the Seattle and Washington, D.C. market.

What you will do

• Develop a forward-looking malaria modeling strategy with the Elimination & Eradication leadership and malaria program strategy teams.
• Build and manage a modeling portfolio responsive to scientific advances, new malaria tools, interventions, and global program changes.
• Manage the malaria modeling team and project portfolio to deliver timely analytical products for investment and eradication decisions.
• Guide dynamical, statistical, spatial, and other modeling approaches for assessing interventions in malaria-endemic settings.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary work across research pillars, Foundation teams, regional country offices, and external partners.
• Lead quarterly IDM Research Reviews and performance-manage direct reports.

Requirements

• PhD in infectious disease modeling, infectious disease epidemiology, malaria epidemiology, or a similar field.
• Track record in complex multidisciplinary research environments and in translating modeling results into public health policy impact.
• Advanced knowledge of dynamical modeling for vector-borne diseases, statistical techniques, spatial analytics, coding, and AI capabilities.
• Experience managing analytical workflows, teams, and multiple projects in public health.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with non-technical stakeholders across cultural contexts.
• Unrestricted work authorization in the United States is required; visa and immigration sponsorship are not available.
