Salary: $173,000–$242,500 total cash annually, with potential pay up to $277,000 based on sustained performance.

What you will do

• Build scalable econometric models using panel data methods, difference-in-differences, regression discontinuity, and instrumental variables.
• Develop long-term impact measurement for customer retention, partner engagement, and marketplace equilibrium.
• Design causal measurement frameworks, including geo experiments, synthetic controls, and instrumental variable approaches.
• Partner with ML teams to integrate causal inference into ranking, pricing optimization, recommendation, and other production systems.
• Translate econometric findings into executive narratives that guide product and business decisions.
• Mentor data scientists and economists while improving causal reasoning and experimental design.

Requirements

• PhD in Economics, Applied Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong foundation in microeconomic theory, applied econometrics, and causal inference.
• Experience applying econometric methods to business problems in technology, e-commerce, or marketplace environments.
• Expertise in IV, DiD, RDD, synthetic controls, panel data methods, experimental design, metalearners, doubleML, and causal forests.
• Proficiency in Python or R and strong SQL skills for large-scale, noisy datasets, with excellent communication skills for explaining methodology and business implications to executives.

Nice to have

• Publications or working papers in applied economics, econometrics, or quantitative methods.
• Experience with two-sided markets, network effects, dynamic pricing, or general equilibrium modeling.
• Experience integrating causal models into ML pipelines or production systems.
• Familiarity with modern AI/ML workflows, LLM-assisted analysis tools, travel, e-commerce, or consumer marketplaces.
