Salary: $217,000 - $303,900 USD

What you will do

• Design and deliver software to improve availability, scalability, and efficiency using Go and Python.
• Maintain and evolve Tier-0 services and Reddit's monolith legacy stack (R2).
• Lead platform redesigns to identify gaps and increase developer velocity.
• Collaborate with Infra and Product organizations to integrate storage capabilities.
• Mentor and guide backend engineers across the company.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building internet-scale software or distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, C++, or Java.
• Strong background in API design and high-rate platform services.
• Proven technical leadership in guiding engineering teams.
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Must be based in the United States

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, gRPC, Cassandra, TiDB, or Redis.
