Staff Software Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Must be a U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident, Asylee, or Refugee). Hybrid role based in Westminster, CO (3 days/week in office).

Salary: $102,000 - $170,000 annually (Colorado range).

What you will do

• Design and develop operational code for new features and defect repairs.
• Create automated unit, functional, and integration tests.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex operational issues.
• Demonstrate functionality and maintain technical documentation.
• Participate in Communities of Practice to improve engineering standards.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person (ITAR compliance).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in complex software system development.
• Expertise in Python (Django) and Linux environments.
• Strong understanding of API concepts (REST, JSON, YAML).
• Experience with test automation frameworks like Cucumber, Gherkin, or Behave.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with K8S, Docker, Jenkins, and Terraform.
• Proficiency in Ruby or Go.
• Background in aerospace or satellite ground systems.
• Experience with RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud networks and CI/CD pipelines.
