Location: Hybrid in New York City or San Francisco
Salary: $170K – $210K + Equity

What you will do
- Design and maintain scalable data models, semantic layers, and visualizations for business-critical reporting.
- Partner with Product, Finance, Marketing, and Operations to translate complex business questions into reliable data solutions.
- Build and maintain dbt models to ensure consistent and reusable data definitions.
- Integrate AI-assisted tools (Claude, Cursor, etc.) into workflows to accelerate development and documentation.
- Improve data quality, governance, and documentation for BI assets to enable self-serve analytics.
- Identify business opportunities and resolve performance bottlenecks in queries and pipelines.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering production-grade solutions in high-scale data environments.
- Deep proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
- Experience with a modern data stack such as Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, Sigma, or Looker.
- Demonstrated active integration of AI tools (Claude, Codex, Copilot, Cursor) into daily engineering workflows.
- Strong ability to work directly with stakeholders to scope ambiguous data requirements.
- Must be based in or able to work hybrid in New York City or San Francisco.
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, payments, lending, or regulated financial environments.
- Familiarity with data orchestration tools like Airflow.
- Exposure to Python for data transformation or automation.
- Experience scaling BI infrastructure in high-growth startup environments.
