What you will do

• Define and lead the architecture of large-scale distributed systems for high-velocity data streams.
• Design resilient systems across synchronous API-driven and asynchronous event-driven paradigms.
• Architect real-time and batch data pipelines for high-throughput ingestion and storage.
• Establish architectural standards for scalability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.
• Partner with engineering, product, and security teams to align architecture with organizational objectives.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across multiple engineering teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in distributed systems and backend architecture.
• Proven success in scaling systems to 50M+ connected devices or comparable high-scale environments.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts like CAP theorem, consistency models, and sharding.
• Strong experience with streaming/messaging systems (Kafka, Pulsar) and processing frameworks (Flink, Spark).
• Programming proficiency in Go, Java, Scala, or Rust.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale IoT or telemetry platforms.
• Familiarity with edge-to-cloud architectures and multi-cloud environments.
