What you will do

• Lead the selection and end-to-end integration of EO/IR cameras, gimbals, Radar, Lidar, and IMU systems.
• Design and implement high-performance C++ drivers and ROS2 nodes using protocols like I2C, SPI, CAN, and Ethernet.
• Solve complex temporal synchronization issues across distributed hardware using PTP, PPS, or hardware triggering.
• Develop and execute rigorous intrinsic and extrinsic calibration routines for the sensor suite.
• Profile and tune sensor pipelines for resource-constrained embedded compute, such as NVIDIA Jetson.
• Support flight tests and field deployments to diagnose and iterate on hardware-level issues in real-time.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and Python specifically for hardware interfacing and embedded systems.
• Hands-on experience with hardware diagnostic tools including oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Fluency in communication protocols: I2C, SPI, CAN, and Ethernet-based sensor communication.
• Ability to balance sensor range and resolution against weight, thermal, and power constraints.
• Location: Must be based in Berlin or Munich
