What you will do

• Own Design-for-Serviceability for the software, firmware, and AI stacks to ensure minimal-skill field recovery.
• Collaborate with R&D to develop and validate diagnostic scripts, tooling, and self-test routines.
• Define and manage software diagnostic content within the Digital Shadow remote-diagnostics platform.
• Validate software and AI dimensions of service, repair, calibration, and OTA procedures before production.
• Manage firmware and bootloader serviceability, including recovery paths for failed updates.
• Act as the primary engineering interface between Services and R&D for software escalations.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering experience in robotics or embedded systems (ROS2, Bash, Ubuntu/Linux).
• Proficiency in Python for diagnostics and automation; C++ is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience diagnosing complex electromechanical systems.
• Understanding of sensor and actuator stacks (2D/3D LiDAR, RGB cameras, motors).
• Disciplined engineering practices and version control using Git.
• Location: Must be based in London, UK for on-site work.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying AI/ML on robots and diagnosing model behavior in the field.
• Familiarity with fleet-telemetry or remote-diagnostics platforms.
• Experience authoring service documentation for non-engineers.
• Exposure to Design-for-Serviceability or DfMA on hardware product lines.
