What you will do

• Install and test new electrical protection relays and controls.
• Troubleshoot and repair LV and MV breakers, switchgear, and CT/PT circuits.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support new equipment commissioning.
• Develop as-built protection and control schematics in coordination with the engineering team.
• Support existing power generation fleets, compression stations, and operational sites.
• Provide technical support to the remote operations center and document test results.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or able to work onsite in Midland, Texas.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the power generation/distribution industry.
• Minimum 5 years of specialized experience as a relay technician.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical breakers, switchgear, CT/PT circuits, and power transformers.
• Field experience troubleshooting electrical protection relay logic and control wiring.
• Valid driver’s license.

Nice to have

• College degree or coursework in an engineering or technical field.
• Experience with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) Relay product line and RTACs.
• Proficiency with generator controllers (CAT EMCP, DEIF, Deep Sea) and industrial PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley).
• NETA certifications and familiarity with NETA commissioning standards.
• Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and industrial SCADA integration.
