What you will do

• Coordinate lab space planning, layout optimization, and infrastructure upgrades in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Manage laboratory inventory, including chemicals, optical components, tools, and gas cylinders.
• Lead Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs to ensure full compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
• Develop and maintain safety protocols, SOPs, hazard assessments, and emergency response procedures.
• Negotiate with vendors for competitive pricing and manage service contracts for high-value equipment.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations, overseeing training programs for personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, Occupational Safety, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in a physics, photonics, semiconductor, aerospace, or national laboratory environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, regulatory compliance, and audit processes.
• Proficiency with laboratory inventory management systems and control best practices.
• Familiarity with cryogenics, vacuum systems, lasers, and other complex research equipment.
• Must be based in or work on-site in Boulder, Colorado.

• Specialized certifications such as CHO, CSP, or CIH.
