Software Development Engineer - ElastiCache, AWS ElastiCache

Location: Dublin, Ireland; hybrid work with most days co-located in the Dublin office and occasional remote work

What you will do

• Build and evolve next-generation in-memory database services for low-latency, high-throughput applications.
• Develop backend technologies compatible with Valkey, Redis OSS, and Memcached.
• Design and implement highly available, scalable distributed services optimized for sub-millisecond latency.
• Apply analytical, design, and problem-solving skills to support diverse data-intensive use cases.
• Participate in operational improvements, investigate recurring issues, and perform daytime on-call support approximately once every 2–3 months.
• Contribute to design reviews, knowledge sharing, mentorship, and onboarding support.

Requirements

• Professional software development experience outside internships.
• Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience is preferred.
