TL;DR
Associate Director, Medical Science Liaison (Rare Diseases): Building scientific relationships with healthcare professionals, academic institutions, researchers, and payers across rare, pulmonary/respiratory, and infectious disease areas with an accent on medical education, product data exchange, and clinical development support. Focus on gathering healthcare professional insights, supporting advisory boards and clinical trials, delivering internal training, and addressing access and patient outcome challenges across the Pacific Northwest.

Location: Fully remote, but candidates must reside in the designated Pacific Northwest territory: Washington, Idaho, Oregon, or Northern Nevada. Frequent domestic and/or international travel of up to 60–80% is required.

Salary: $187,000–$244,000 annual.

What you will do

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with physicians, healthcare professionals, academic institutions, researchers, payers, and healthcare organizations.
  • Conduct scientific exchanges covering disease education, product information, research activities, and current or future therapies.
  • Present hirify.global product and disease-state data and support appropriate prescribing and improved patient outcomes.
  • Identify medical experts, consultants, investigators, and clinical trial sites, and support recruitment and issue resolution.
  • Implement advisory boards and scientific forums while collecting, synthesizing, and delivering healthcare professional insights.
  • Deliver medical and scientific training to internal colleagues and execute Medical Affairs and Clinical Development initiatives within assigned budgets.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree such as PharmD, PhD, MD, or NP/PA, plus at least five years of relevant field medical experience or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Experience with rare or orphan diseases, pulmonary/respiratory diseases, and infectious diseases.
  • Residence in the designated Pacific Northwest region is required.
  • Strong English communication, presentation, relationship-building, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of the PhRMA Code, Sunshine Act, HIPAA, promotional regulations, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Understanding of the US healthcare system, healthcare policy, health outcomes, pharmacoeconomics, and population-based health management.

Nice to have

  • Pharmaceutical experience in Medical Information, Medical Strategy, or clinical management.
  • At least two years of clinical or non-pharmaceutical research experience.
