Salary: $189,000 - $303,000 per Year

What you will do

• Design complex systems from the ground up in collaboration with software, hardware, and infrastructure teams.
• Implement and maintain a micro-backend architecture on AWS to monitor and manage the commercial fleet.
• Develop fleet management solutions and vehicle communication systems.
• Establish infrastructure to ensure high availability and reliability of products.
• Mentor team members and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence.
• Partner with Product Managers and Designers to deliver autonomous vehicle capabilities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building backend services.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proficiency with web communication protocols (REST, gRPC, GraphQL).
• Experience building large-scale, high-concurrent, and safety-critical backend services.
• Must be based in or able to work from Mountain View, CA (Hybrid: 3+ days/week in office).
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with embedded autonomous vehicle development or IoT.
• Knowledge of real-time communication between devices and cloud.
• Experience with fleet management for robots, vehicles, or drones.
• Familiarity with application release strategies (feature flagging, canary releases).
• Experience with observability of safety-critical systems.
