What you will do

• Optimize database performance using monitoring, tuning, and query optimization to improve response times and resource utilization.
• Perform right-sizing through capacity planning and forecasting, including automation for scalable sizing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues by analyzing observability data for bottlenecks, scalability problems, and data inconsistencies.
• Collaborate with developers and system administrators to understand application requirements and provide database guidance.
• Automate repetitive tasks and build/maintain solutions for continuous workload analysis at scale.
• Define and document best practices for database architecture, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.

Requirements

• US citizenship and residence on US soil; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
• 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in database performance engineering or a similar role.
• Expertise in PostgreSQL database management and proficiency in SQL.
• Knowledge of database architecture, replication, and optimization techniques.
• Professional experience with cloud hosting platforms such as AWS and GCP, preferably with managed database experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or related field (or equivalent experience).

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of GraphDB, Kubernetes, and Linux.
• Advanced degree.
