What you will do

• Design and build the control plane for provisioning, scaling, and healing Neki clusters with minimal downtime.
• Develop high availability, disaster recovery, and data protection solutions to ensure data safety.
• Build tooling and automation for database operations, including backup, restore, and migration workflows.
• Collaborate directly with customers to translate real-world workloads into platform improvements.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to maintain system reliability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience designing and supporting large-scale production systems.
• Strong proficiency in Go; experience with Ruby or Python is a plus.
• Deep understanding of distributed, fault-tolerant systems and low-level OS concepts (memory, networking, storage).
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized applications.
• Strong experience building or operating large-scale Postgres deployments in production.

Nice to have

• Experience with Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) or managed database platforms.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Contributions to open-source projects in the Postgres or database infrastructure space.
• Experience working with remote, geographically distributed teams.
