What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement scalable, high-performance database solutions for ecommerce needs.
• Monitor and optimize database queries, stored procedures, and schema designs to improve transaction processing and data retrieval.
• Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure continuous platform availability.
• Manage database security, user access/roles, and data encryption to protect sensitive customer and business information.
• Develop automation tools to reduce manual database administrative work and improve efficiency.
• Provide on-call support and troubleshoot complex database issues in production and lower environments while minimizing downtime.

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on experience as a Sr Database Engineer, SRE, Sr DBA, Systems Architect, or a mix of these roles.
• Strong expertise with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle).
• Experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions; ability to write tools/utilities in Python, bash, or PowerShell.
• Solid database design and data modeling experience for relational and document/NoSQL systems.
• Experience with database performance tuning (e.g., indexing strategies and query plan analysis).
• Experience with database platform migrations (e.g., Relational ↔ DocumentDB, Oracle ↔ Postgres, On-Prem ↔ Cloud).
