What you will do

  • Manage a caseload of small and mid-sized groups, ensuring accuracy and pricing integrity.
  • Independently use proprietary underwriting engines to generate and modify rating outputs.
  • Rate level-funded plans and apply pricing concessions within defined authority limits.
  • Evaluate group health risks using claims data, demographics, and utilization trends.
  • Communicate strategic pricing recommendations to Sales and Account Management teams.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls and industry regulations.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of underwriting experience, including 1–2 years with stop loss or level-funded health plans.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Insurance.
  • Proven ability to independently underwrite standard and moderately complex cases.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

  • Experience in startup or high-growth environments.
  • Master’s degree or advanced training in a relevant discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as HIA, CEBS, MHP, or FLMI.
