Sr. Staff Hardware Engineer (Networking)

Location: Hybrid in Santa Clara, California, United States

Base salary: $184,000–$230,000 per year

What you will do

• Define system architectures and hardware specifications for next-generation traffic aggregation and network observability platforms.
• Design, bring up, debug, and validate board-level digital circuits, including high-speed interfaces.
• Develop and maintain CPLD glue logic using Verilog RTL and integrate it into board-level designs.
• Qualify optical components such as transceivers and passive splitters, and collaborate on mechanical, thermal, and system integration solutions.
• Coordinate prototype builds, validation, environmental and compliance testing with contract manufacturers and JDM/ODM/OEM partners.
• Provide technical support for new product introduction, sustaining engineering, and critical customer hardware escalations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of design experience in networking, embedded, or optical products.
• Experience designing high-speed boards with strong signal integrity and power integrity knowledge.
• Experience with low-noise, high-efficiency onboard power regulation circuits and Verilog RTL for CPLDs or similar devices.
• Strong board-level debug and validation skills using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and related laboratory equipment.
• Experience authoring product specifications, test plans, and test procedures and collaborating across software, manufacturing, and operations teams.
