Annual salary: $140,000–$170,000, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive pay.

Company

hirify.global’s Molecular Devices develops automated and AI-enabled technologies for life science research, diagnostics, biotechnology, and scientific discovery.

What you will do

  • Own the electrical design of instrument subsystems, including analog and digital circuits, FPGA and CPLD logic, power distribution, motor and actuator control, sensors, communications, and safety functions.
  • Translate user needs and system requirements into electrical architectures, schematics, multilayer PCB designs, interface specifications, verification plans, risk controls, and design documentation.
  • Build and test prototypes, perform board bring-up and system integration, troubleshoot hardware, and conduct root-cause analysis and design verification.
  • Collaborate with systems, mechanical, software, firmware, quality, regulatory, and service teams on risk assessments, design reviews, product release, and sustaining engineering.
  • Resolve manufacturing and field issues through structured problem-solving and corrective action.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience developing electrical components for complex electromechanical products through integration, verification, and production release.
  • Proficiency in mixed-signal circuit design, schematic capture, multilayer PCB development, power electronics, motor or actuator control, and interfaces including SPI, I2C, UART, USB, CAN, or Ethernet.
  • Hands-on experience with Altium Designer and SOLIDWORKS for PCB design, mechanical packaging, enclosure, assembly, and electrical-mechanical integration reviews.
  • Experience with FPGA and CPLD design using VHDL or Verilog, including simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, device programming, and hardware debugging.
  • Ability to handle and move instruments, prototypes, and test equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice to have

  • Experience developing life science, medical, laboratory automation, robotics, imaging, or analytical instrumentation within an ISO-aligned quality system.
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility, electrical safety, environmental and reliability testing, design-for-compliance, and mitigation practices.
  • Experience with high-speed digital design, HDL testbenches, scripting-based test automation, product lifecycle management systems, Jira, or Agile development.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work within hirify.global’s continuous-improvement system and a collaborative engineering environment.
  • Benefits include paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Eligible employees receive access to a 401(k) plan.
  • The role is eligible for bonus or incentive pay.
