Senior Software Engineer (Java/React)

Location: Jessup, Maryland, United States. Onsite role with an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required. Applicants must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR/EAR requirements; U.S. citizenship is required.

Salary: $215,000–$230,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance complex full-stack applications.
• Implement end-to-end features across user interfaces, backend services, RESTful APIs, and data stores.
• Build responsive interfaces with modern UI frameworks and reusable components while meeting accessibility and UI/UX standards.
• Develop simulations, test harnesses, automated tests, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Debug applications, perform root-cause analysis, and improve performance, usability, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and engineers through code reviews and iterative development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics, or equivalent experience.
• At least 14 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Strong Java backend development experience and proficiency with JavaScript frameworks, particularly React.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, Docker or Podman, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures.
• U.S. person status is required for ITAR/EAR compliance; current U.S. citizenship may be required.

Nice to have

• Experience with machine learning workflows, streaming data pipelines, and batch processing systems.
• Experience with MongoDB, ArangoDB, Redis, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience deploying applications in AWS and working with hyper-converged infrastructure.
• Familiarity with logging, monitoring, observability, Agile, or iterative development environments.
