TL;DR

Payer Strategy Director (Healthtech): Leading the strategic partnership process for health plan prospects to drive utilization management transformation with an accent on business case development and consultative sales. Focus on engaging with payer executives, demonstrating platform value, and scaling the enterprise sales model.

Location: Must be based in the United States (Fully remote with ~10% travel).

Salary: $180,000–$190,000 annually.

What you will do

  • Engage with health plan executives as a thought partner to advise on market trends and utilization management best practices.
  • Lead the consultative process to scope client partnerships and build business cases for transformation.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on sales calls, leading demonstrations and articulating platform differentiation.
  • Collaborate with sales, implementation, and product teams to refine internal processes and deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the enterprise sales model for scalability and impact.

Requirements

  • Must be based in the United States.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a similar role within health-tech, healthcare consulting, or health plans.
  • Deep experience selling into or working with health insurance plans across various lines of business.
  • Strong understanding of health plan technology systems, including claims platforms, CM/UM systems, and data analytics.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability with experience in financial analysis and ROI modeling.
  • Ability to travel for prospect meetings as required.

Nice to have

  • Graduate degree (MBA, MPH, etc.).
  • Demonstrated success in complex enterprise technology sales.
  • Project management experience.
