What you will do
- Contribute to producing, presenting, and updating psychology modules and qualifications for the School of Psychology & Counselling.
- Lead teaching of forensic psychology across undergraduate and postgraduate curricula.
- Support teaching and learning for online and distance education, including student and associate lecturer support.
- Develop innovative curricula and pedagogies and contribute to interdisciplinary curriculum delivery.
- Conduct independent research aligned with the School’s forensic psychology profile and the Forensic Cognition Research Group.
- Engage in external research grant applications and supervise research students; contribute to academic management as required.
Requirements
- PhD (or equivalent) in psychology or a cognate discipline.
- Developing profile of teaching excellence in psychology and evidence of understanding contemporary forensic psychology issues and trends.
- Evidence of understanding how to support and deliver distance learning in higher education.
- Evidence of interest in and commitment to online teaching and learning.
- Writing skills to produce student-appropriate written material at the relevant level.
- Developing profile of research excellence with synergy/extension to the Forensic Cognition Research Group, plus evidence of high-quality research outputs and potential to secure research funding.
Nice to have
- Experience producing distance-teaching materials and using/developing online and multimedia teaching materials.
- Experience supervising student dissertations and projects.
- HCPC eligibility in forensic psychology and experience working in forensic psychology settings.
