What you will do
- Carry out inspections across communal areas and individual dwellings to assess compliance with FRAs, HHSRS, and clutter/hoarding standards.
- Identify hazards and non-compliance issues, including fire risks linked to items in communal areas.
- Take appropriate action to address risks, including issuing warnings, enforcement action, and follow-up inspections.
- Work directly with residents to educate, support, and encourage behaviour change, especially regarding clutter and fire safety risks.
- Manage and monitor compliance actions to ensure risks are mitigated within agreed timescales, maintaining accurate records and evidence.
- Collaborate with housing officers, contractors, and external partners; escalate high-risk cases appropriately.
Requirements
- Proven experience in fire safety compliance and FRA processes.
- Experience conducting HHSRS inspections and identifying hazards.
- Experience managing clutter/hoarding cases and enforcement activity.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, including engaging effectively with vulnerable residents.
- Practical, solution-focused approach with confidence to take enforcement action where required.
- Experience working in social housing or a local authority environment, with good understanding of relevant legislation (building safety and housing standards).
