What you will do

• Personally design and build foundational AI capabilities, including RAG systems, code generation, and multi-agent workflows.
• Pragmatically refactor legacy Microsoft-stack components into scalable, cloud-native services.
• Establish an AI factory framework to automate manual workflows and accelerate production-ready service generation.
• Transition into a leadership role to manage team execution, elevate talent density, and mentor developers in AI-native methods.
• Deploy features safely using feature flags and shadow mode while adhering to HIPAA and CJIS compliance.
• Collaborate with Banyan's centralized AI initiatives to accelerate localized product value.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with a track record of modernizing complex architectures.
• Documented history of shipping production AI/ML systems (data pipelines, modeling, and deployment) to real users.
• Proven ability to act as a first AI engineer, delivering baseline architecture independently.
• Strong judgment regarding build-vs-buy decisions and legacy system refactoring.
• Experience managing engineering teams and a commitment to developing technical talent.
• Must be US-based and fully eligible for government-adjacent/public-sector compliance work.

Nice to have

• Direct experience with GovTech, public sector, or federal case management software.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft AI stack, specifically Azure ML and Azure OpenAI integrations.
• Experience coordinating with distributed or offshore engineering teams.
