Senior AI Architect

Location: US-based, remote; must be fully eligible for government-adjacent and public-sector compliance work

hirify.global builds CaseWorks, a mission-critical content and workflow management platform used in county-level Health and Human Services operations across the United States. It operates as part of Banyan Software.

What you will do

• Design and build foundational AI capabilities, including RAG systems, code generation, LLM orchestration, and multi-agent workflows.
• Analyze legacy code and generate production-ready services that deliver measurable customer value.
• Refactor legacy components into scalable, cloud-native services and automate manual workflows.
• Deploy features safely using feature flags, shadow mode, and monitoring.
• Partner with the CEO and Banyan’s centralized AI initiatives to accelerate product modernization.
• Scale and upskill the engineering team after establishing the initial AI factory framework.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Proven experience modernizing complex architectures and establishing cloud-native and DevSecOps practices.
• End-to-end production experience with AI/ML systems, including data pipelines, modeling, deployment, and monitoring.
• Experience delivering independently as a founding or first AI engineer.
• Strong build-versus-buy judgment and experience modernizing long-standing Microsoft-stack platforms.
• Must be based in the United States and eligible for government-adjacent and public-sector compliance work, including HIPAA and CJIS requirements.

Nice to have

• GovTech, public-sector, or federal case management software experience.
• Familiarity with Azure ML and Azure OpenAI integrations.
• Experience managing or collaborating with distributed or offshore engineering teams.
