Solutions Architect - Applied AI & Software

Location: City of London, UK. Remote for the first 6 months, then hybrid with 2–3 days per week at the Covent Garden office. The posting also lists Argentina as a location.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end architecture and implementation across AI, data, and application initiatives from current-state assessment through production delivery.
• Build prototypes and production-quality solutions in Python and TypeScript, review code, and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Design production-grade AI architectures covering LLM/RAG, retrieval, agentic workflows, evaluation, guardrails, tool calling, observability, and cost and latency optimisation.
• Define reference architectures, reusable patterns, and technical standards across applications, data, integrations, security, and cloud infrastructure.
• Translate investment, portfolio, risk, finance, and corporate requirements into scalable solutions and lead build-versus-buy evaluations.
• Drive technical decisions, document architectural standards, define non-functional requirements, and mentor engineering teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering and architecture experience with substantial recent hands-on development and production delivery.
• Hands-on expertise across Python, SQL, backend, frontend, data, and infrastructure.
• Experience designing and building production AI and LLM architectures, including RAG, retrieval, agentic workflows, evaluation, guardrails, and AI integrations.
• Extensive cloud architecture experience, ideally with Azure, including networking, identity, security, infrastructure, deployment, and cost optimisation.
• Deep expertise in data modelling, lakehouse and warehouse architectures, data quality, governance, and complex integrations.
• Knowledge of security, compliance, resilience, scalability, performance, data residency, auditability, and regulatory alignment in regulated or data-sensitive environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in asset management, sovereign wealth, private equity or credit, banking, fintech, or capital markets.
• Experience integrating financial data providers such as Bloomberg, LSEG/Refinitiv, FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, PitchBook, Preqin, or MSCI.
• Experience with large-scale document processing, enterprise streaming and data platforms, architecture standards, or design authority.
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF, or other recognised architecture and cloud credentials.
