TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer (C#/.NET): Designing and delivering desktop, device, and web software supporting manufacturing, quality, engineering, and R&D in a global laser technology business with an accent on system architecture, hardware communication, and automation. Focus on building C# applications with modern .NET, integrating SQL databases and hardware interfaces, and applying unit and integration testing to improve reliability.
Location: Stockport, United Kingdom

What you will do
- Lead software system architecture design and create UML and technical documentation.
- Develop desktop and device applications using C# and modern .NET frameworks.
- Build web applications and interfaces with ASP.NET, Blazor, WPF, and Windows Forms.
- Develop hardware communication interfaces using RS232 and Ethernet.
- Create SQL database interactions and identify opportunities for workflow automation.
- Apply unit and integration testing, produce user documentation, and coach team members on development practices.
Requirements
- Strong experience with C# and .NET 6 or later.
- Ability to design software architectures and create UML documentation.
- Degree in Computer Science, Physics, or a similar discipline.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Nice to have
- Experience with ASP.NET, Blazor, C for embedded platforms, Python for data analysis, VBA or VB6, and Qt GUI development.
