TL;DR

Software Development Engineer I (Fullstack/Insurtech): Developing and scaling an Insurtech platform for auto insurance with an accent on API services, web applications, and data marketplaces. Focus on cloud migration to Azure, test automation, and ensuring system reliability for a massive connected vehicle fleet.

Location: Remote (Must be based in the United States)

hirify.global and General Motors Insurance are building a foundational Insurtech business aimed at reinventing auto insurance using data from the world's largest connected vehicle fleet.

What you will do

  • Develop product features for data marketplaces, mobile applications, web applications, and API services.
  • Execute the migration of services to public cloud environments.
  • Contribute to test automation and participate in peer reviews to increase overall product quality.
  • Maintain a production-first mindset focused on scale, uptime, and rapid triage of production issues.
  • Collaborate within an Agile Scrum team to continuously improve time to market and software quality.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in high-level programming languages such as Java or C# (.NET Core / .NET MVC).
  • Experience with data query analysis and optimization using MS SQL Server or NoSQL (e.g., CosmosDB).
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS) and pipeline automation (Azure DevOps, Terraform).
  • Must not require visa sponsorship.
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field preferred.

Nice to have

  • Experience with various cloud native hosting platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Previous experience with PaaS (Platform as a Service).
