Network Virtualization Engineer (DoD)

Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 annually

What you will do

• Manage and administer virtualization environments including vSphere, NSX, and vSAN.
• Perform vulnerability remediation and system patching to ensure DoD compliance.
• Conduct daily system monitoring, backups, and restoral operations.
• Collaborate with system administrators and cybersecurity teams to maintain test environments.
• Document system changes and advise government customers on optimization efforts.
• Deploy new virtual machines and troubleshoot complex network connectivity issues.

Requirements

• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required.
• Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE) required.
• Minimum 7 years of directly related experience and 10 years of total work experience.
• Deep understanding of VCF Infrastructure including vSphere, NSX, and vSAN.
• Experience with SDDC Manager for patching and system maintenance.
• Proficiency in configuring distributed stateful firewalling, NAT, and micro-segmentation.

Nice to have

• VMware certifications (VCP-DCV, VCAP, VCDX).
• Experience with Python or PowerShell scripting.
• Knowledge of Juniper Apstra, VMware Aria, or RHEL Ansible.
• Experience with Missile Defense or DoD communications systems.
