Solar Technician Intern

TL;DR

Solar Technician Intern (Solar PV): Troubleshooting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing solar PV systems and associated equipment with an accent on safe, efficient, and profitable solar PV operation. Focus on preventive/corrective maintenance, inspections, work order documentation, and supporting EHS processes including JHAs, PJBs, and Lockout/Tagout.

What you will do

• Assist with preventive, corrective, and maintenance activities on solar PV systems and related equipment.
• Support operation and maintenance of the solar facility through technical and administrative tasks.
• Participate in equipment inspections and routine maintenance under guidance of experienced technicians.
• Observe and assist with troubleshooting and repair activities as assigned.
• Help maintain work order documentation and maintenance records in the preventive maintenance management system.
• Support EHS requirements and processes (JHAs, Pre-Job Briefs, Lockout/Tagout) and keep tools/work areas safe and organized.

Requirements

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge.
• Strong interest in renewable energy and willingness to learn.
• Understanding of workplace safety principles and ability to follow safety and environmental requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical job duties.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and travel as needed.

Nice to have

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman certification/qualifications.
