What you will do

• Serve as a subject matter expert on VA databases, information systems, and their interrelationships.
• Plan, monitor, and report on program activities and deliverables using tools like JIRA and MS Project.
• Analyze existing informatics systems to identify gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for enhancement.
• Develop technical documentation, concept of operations (CONOPS), and executive-level reports.
• Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams, including clinical staff, IT specialists, and external stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members and conduct quality reviews of project deliverables.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Health Informatics, IT, Public Health, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in health systems analysis or health informatics.
• Expert knowledge of VA databases and data architectures within the VA informatics ecosystem.
• Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, JIRA, Smartsheet) and PMP-aligned methodologies.
• Experience applying change management frameworks (e.g., Prosci ADKAR) in healthcare settings.
• Understanding of federal IT governance frameworks including FISMA and FedRAMP.

Nice to have

• Experience with VHA, CDC, CMS, DHA, or HHS.
• Active security clearance or ability to obtain one.
• PMP and/or Prosci Change Management certifications.
• Familiarity with VA's EHR Modernization (EHRM) and Cerner/Oracle Health implementation.
• SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) certification.
