TL;DR

Electrical Design Engineer (High Voltage Electrification): Designing and developing electrical systems for heavy machinery with an accent on high-voltage architectures (>300V DC) and harness routing. Focus on integrating HVIL safety circuits, utilizing 3D CAD tools (Creo), and ensuring manufacturability across the product lifecycle.

Location: Onsite in Desford, Leicestershire, UK (5 days a week)

Salary: £49,500 – £61,000

What you will do

  • Design and develop electrical systems, including conventional 12V/24V harnesses and high-voltage (>300V DC) systems using Creo 3D.
  • Develop high-voltage cable systems and integrate HVIL (High Voltage Interlock Loop) safety circuits to ensure compliance.
  • Own the full product lifecycle from concept and development through validation, release, and field issue resolution.
  • Translate project requirements into robust electrical architectures and component selections.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to resolve design challenges and integrate products.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in structured problem-solving and analytical thinking to evaluate design options.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD tools (specifically Creo 3D) for harness and cable modelling of high-voltage systems.
  • Sound engineering knowledge of electrified architectures and integrated safety features.
  • Ability to effectively plan and prioritize work across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work authorization and ability to work onsite in the UK.
